FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What are the advantages of being a ShareFest Partnering Church?
A:
Your congregation will be energized and catch a greater vision for reaching out to their community. You will experience the joy of visibly uniting with other congregations. Your service activity will build bridges of spiritual influence in your community. God will be glorified. Your church will be recognized as a participant in ShareFest 2008.

Q: My church has its own community projects and ministries. Why join with ShareFest?
A:
The activities of most churches involved in community service are relatively unknown outside of their own congregations. ShareFest can be an opportunity to highlight your ministry and give glory to God. Your joy in serving can be a powerful example to influence and encourage others in the Body of Christ.

Q: Does my church have to be involved in all parts of ShareFest?
A: While we hope churches will choose to be involved in all components of ShareFest, each church should decide the level of involvement appropriate for them. You can choose to participate in any one, or all aspects.

Q: What kind of projects are done, and how are they chosen?
A:
Projects are intended to benefit those most in need in the community. Special emphasis should be directed to benefit youth, those with limited incomes, those who are jobless or homeless, the elderly, and those who are sick. A church can select projects on their own or choose from a variety of worthy projects provided by ShareFest. Projects are limited only by the creativity of each church. But typical projects could include painting, fixing, cleaning, or beautifying schools, nursing homes, public housing apartment buildings, or perhaps sprucing up playgrounds in public parks or schools.

Q: How should we organize in our church for ShareFest participation?
A: We recommend each church identify a minimum of one person as their ShareFest Project Coordinator. Churches taking on more than one project, or partnering with another church may need to have several project coordinators.

Q: Your partnering church sign-up sheet mentions a financial contribution. How is this money used?
A: This money supports the staff and activities necessary for making ShareFest a reality. An itemized budget is available upon request.
